December 14, 1946- November 28, 2023

Ida Lee Vickers Muskiet, a devout Catholic, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all who knew her, passed away peacefully at the age of 90, on December 5, 2023, with her children beside her.
Ida was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1932, in LaPorte, Texas, to the late Charles Vickers and Ruth Wagoneer Vickers.
She attended The University of Houston, where (in her words) she obtained a “Mrs.”degree after meeting and marrying the love of her life, Lawrence John “Larry” Muskiet.
After a brief courtship, Ida and Larry were married on September 25, 1951, and settled in Bay City, Texas, in 1958, where they spent their lives together raising their four children, Donna, Karen, Mike, and John.
In addition to being a mother to her children, Ida was also the accountant and bookkeeper for Larry’s TV & Amp; Electronics, which she and Larry opened in the early 1970s on 7th Street in Bay City.
She was also very active in the community and church throughout the years serving as a member of KJZT, the Catholic Daughters of America, Holy Cross PTA, and a Cub Scout leader for the Holy Cross Boy Scout Pack.
Full of wit and humor, Ida loved to laugh and would always welcome the opportunity for a visit by their friends who would oftentimes stop by Larry’s TV in the middle of the day when they saw her van there.
Also, being a savvy card player -   it wasn’t uncommon to see those same cars there late into the evening some nights too!
Bowling, however, was what Ida enjoyed doing the most!
For many years, Larry and Ida traveled nationally where she very proudly won multiple titles in both singles and doubles for her age group.
True to form, she even had multiple knee replacement surgeries later in life because she said her bad knees were causing her bowling average to drop!
Ida will be deeply missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her, though the memories we carry in each of us will last forever.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Lawrence John
“Larry” Muskiet.
Survivors include: daughters, Donna McNally and husband John, Karen Crain and husband Gary; sons, Mike Muskiet and wife Pam, and John Muskiet and wife Jean Claire; grandchildren, Anissa Weiss and husband John, Matt Work and wife Leslie, Kristie Kramer and husband Jerrett, Heath Crain and wife
