   Mrs. Mary Jane Woodard Payne, 76, of Hephzibah, Georgia, entered into rest June 20, 2023.
   Graveside services for her was conducted Friday morning, July 7 at 10 o’clock in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Augusta, Ga. 
   On July 15, 2023, a Memorial Service will be held at Bethlehem Christian Church, with Pastor Kenneth Bree, Sr. in Cedar Lake, Texas at 1 p.m.
   Mrs. Payne was born September 6, 1946, in Cedar Lake, Texas, to the late Nathaniel Woodard and Pinkie Mae Brown. 
   Mrs. Payne enjoyed serving as a laboratory clerk at Eisenhower Army Medical Center on Fort Gordon. 
   She was well-loved and deeply respected among her patients and their families. 
   Mrs. Payne was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, August
Ward, and found great satisfaction in hosting missionaries and church members for dinner. 
   She became well known for her baked turkeys and German Chocolate Cakes. 
   Mrs. Payne was a devoted
and loving mother to her two daughters, Alexis Monique and Paulette LaVonne Payne.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Payne, father Nathaniel Woodard and mother Pinkie Mae Brown Brooks (Hezekiah Brooks Sr.).
   Survivors include daughters Alexis Monique and Paulette LaVonne Payne. 
   Mrs. Payne’s surviving
siblings includes Hezekiah Brooks Jr (Darlean), Estella Lewis, Lorise Cofield, Janice Hopes (Rickey), McLotta Fields all of Bay City, Tennie Linear (Elder James Linear Sr) of Angleton, Amanda Brooks-Jackson, and Izara Robert Brooks (Jana) of Houston.
